Yes, children, human-caused Global Warming is even worse now. No, wait --- it's not actually worse. It's not like we have any actual facts. No, the latest banner headlines are about ifs and maybes ...
The International Herald Tribune (owned by the NYT) headlines: "Greenhouse gases at near-record levels in 2005."
Well, this isn't news. Growing Third World economies are using more energy. Russia, China and India are producing more CO2. People are eating better. They are living longer, and driving cars more. They are heating their houses when it's cold, and running their A/C when it's hot.
Run!
Unfortunately for IHT, nobody has proven that CO2 is a "greenhouse gas" on the real Planet Earth, as opposed to laboratory jars. So the IHT just smuggles in the inference with the scare words "greenhouse gas."
Real greenhouses actually grow things in real gardens. So there could be a growth of algae in the oceans just eating up all that lovely new CO2. Give more food, get more algae and other plants.
We just don't know, and the models lie, by selecting facts to fit the scare.
We do know that water vapor is " probably the most important greenhouse gas" according to the American Geophysical Union. So if there's any greenhouse gassing going on, it's the God of Rain and Clouds who's responsible.
So what was that scare headline again? Not about news, because there was no news.
Not to be outdone, the resident false alarm reporter at The New Scientist tells us that "War Has History Links to Global Climate Change."
Scared you, didn't I?
